In California, you can use traffic violator school to remove one ticket every 18 months from your driving record. As long as you were not going more than 25 miles per hour over the speed limit and do not have a commercial driver's license, you should be able to take traffic school to get your violation dismissed. You do have to request this option from the court, however. They won't offer it to you automatically. You can request to take traffic school at your initial court date or by contacting the court beforehand. The court can also provide you with a list of approved traffic violator school programs to help you get your ticket dismissed.
