Who Teaches the Course?

California traffic school is taught by instructors who have been licensed by the state. To qualify for a license, an instructor must have a high school education and must have passed a state examination that covers traffic laws, safe driving practices, operation of motor vehicles, and teaching methods and techniques. Also, they must have a valid California driver's license that is not suspended, and they can’t be on probation with the DMV for being a negligent operator. Finally, they must pass a background check and cannot have been convicted of a crime involving "moral turpitude" related to their job duties.

All applicants for a traffic violator school license in California must present a signed statement from a licensed traffic school stating that the school intends to employ the applicant.
